Special Session on Advances in Document Processing
Document Analysis is a technique to gather information used in a formal description of the electronic text. It involves recognition of characters, symbols, text, lines, graphics, images, handwriting, signatures, as well as automatic, analysis of overall physical and logical structures of documents. Some of the types of documents are reports, newsletters, information broucher, invitation letters, bussiness plans, bussiness process and procedures, customer contracts, customer suggestions, request for proposals, system specifications, training guides, vision documents, company memos etc.
The various applications of Document Analysis are Security services, Defense organizations, Forensic challenges, Banking, Post offices, Archeological field and historical literature management, Mapping and other geographical applications, weather forecasting, Library automation, reading aids to blind, language processing and multi-media design. By bringing the technology to the process of producing and using documents, one has the opportunity of achieving significant productivity enhancements. This session highly pore on advances in document image analysis and recognition in meeting the real world problems.
